Installing and activating Visio 2024
- Open setup.office.com and log in with a Microsoft account. A free account is enough.
- Type the product key from your email. Visio Professional 2024 is now linked to that account.
- Install Visio from the account page in the build that matches your Office (64-bit with 64-bit, 32-bit with 32-bit), since Microsoft won’t mix them.
- Start Visio and log in with that account when asked.

Microsoft lists Excel, Access, SQL Server, SharePoint lists, Exchange Server directories, Microsoft Entra ID and any OLE DB or ODBC source. Linking data is done in the desktop app.
Will colleagues on older Visio versions be able to open my files?
Yes. Visio 2024 saves .vsdx files by default. For someone on Visio 2003, save the drawing as a .vsd file.
Can I use Visio 2024 on a Mac?
No. Visio Professional 2024 is Windows-only.
