Windows 11 – Installation & Activation Guide

This guide will help you install Windows 11 on your PC and activate it using your product key.
No technical experience needed – just follow the steps in order.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

• A Windows 11 Pro or Home product key
• A USB drive with at least 8GB (for clean installation)
• A stable internet connection
• A PC that meets the Windows 11 system requirements

Tip: If you’re upgrading from Windows 10, you don’t need a USB – you can upgrade directly.

Step 1 – Download Windows 11

Go to Microsoft’s official download page: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

You will see three options:

A. Windows 11 Installation Assistant (Upgrade from Windows 10)

Choose this if you want to upgrade without losing files.

1. Click Download Now under Installation Assistant.
2. Open the downloaded file.
3. Follow the on-screen steps until the upgrade completes.

B. Create Windows 11 Installation Media (USB Installer)

Choose this if:

• You want a clean installation
• You’re installing Windows on a new or formatted PC

Steps:

1. Click Download Now under Create Windows 11 Installation Media.
2. Open the file.
3. Insert a USB drive (8GB or more).
4. Select USB Flash Drive and continue.
5. Let the tool create your bootable USB.

C. Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)

Choose this if you prefer installing from an ISO file.

1. Scroll down to Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO).
2. Select Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO).
3. Choose your language and click Download.

Step 2 – Install Windows 11

If you’re upgrading from Windows 10, the setup will run automatically.

If you’re doing a clean install:

1. Plug the USB installer into your PC.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Enter the Boot Menu (F2, F12, ESC, or DEL depending on your PC).
4. Select your USB drive.
5. Choose Install Now.
6. Select your language and region.
7. If asked for a key, you can:
   • Enter it now
   • Or click I don’t have a product key (you can activate later)
8. Choose Custom Installation for a clean setup.
9. Select your drive and click Next.

Windows will begin installing – the rest of the process is automatic.

Step 3 – Activate Windows 11

After the installation is complete:

A. Activate Using Your Product Key

1. Go to Start > Settings
2. Click System
3. Open Activation
4. Click Change Product Key
5. Enter your 25-character Windows 11 key
6. Click Activate

Your Windows should now be fully activated.

B. Check Activation Status

1. Open Settings
2. Go to System → Activation
3. Look for:

“Windows is activated”
or
“Windows is activated with a digital license”
